TESBROS

TESBROS got their start with a tiny sticker label, solving the problem of Tesla owner's passengers not knowing which handle to pull to open their car door. Since 2018, the brand has exploded, offering dozens of products and a hugely popular YouTube channel to help their customers customize, protect, and maintain all models of Teslas.

As the product range grew, and more models and years of Teslas were released, TESBROS' audience needed the website to solve a key problem for them: which of these products fit my car? We built an easy-to-use, sitewide car compatibility tool, so users just need to enter their Tesla model, year, and trim once, and products sitewide will display if they fit their car or not.

Logged in users can even save their Tesla, and give it a name - a nod to the Tesla fan culture of naming your car. Plus, Tesla superfans with multiple cars can save their entire garage and easily swap which car they're shopping for. And the best part? As Tesla adds more models and trim options and redesigns over the years, the TESBROS team can easily add to the compatibility tool without the need for a developer.

The custom product details page offers color descriptions to better support the limited imagery available, plus information on installation and special fit notices (when compatibility isn't as straightforward as year/model/trim).

Other key highlights:

  • Redesigned the navigation to fit the growing product range
  • Built a custom bundling tool for complex, customizable all-car protection kits
  • Transformed the homepage with an aim to educate new visitors about products they may not fully understand and inspire them to trick out their Tesla. The homepage also supports shopping for various models of Tesla.
  • Used the newly-released (at the time!) Shopify metafields to build customizeable collection filters

By better supporting the shopping experience of their audience, TESBROS hit record sales in 2023 and continues to reach new audiences as Teslas remain popular.
