Matter HT
Our long-time client, Gadget Guard, has been growing over the last few years. Their evolution led to something bigger: Matter Brands. Matter is a portfolio of premium tech accessories built with purpose. Their mission goes beyond protecting devices. They’re focused on protecting people from their devices and protecting the planet from waste.
With several brands in their portfolio, the team realized it was time to bring everything together. Instead of managing five separate brand sites, they wanted one consolidated home where technology, design, and sustainability could shine in a unified way.
But don’t mistake this for a simple migration. Matter HT is a brand-new site with mostly new products, designed to reflect the future of the business. It’s the technology and spirit of each individual brand, reimagined into one cohesive vision.

Shaping What Matters
In the spring, we ran our Strategic Foundations process to set the priorities for a Phase 1 launch. With the new iPhone release scheduled for September, the timeline needed to be tight and focused.
Starting on June 1, we kicked off a focused 10-week build to launch the first version of Matter HT. The goal was clear: create a strong foundation that could launch fast and grow steadily.
Phase 1 focused on:
- Establishing a unified brand identity across Matter’s product lineup
- Integrating protection technology into one cohesive site
- Delivering a polished shopping experience ready for iPhone-season traffic
- Building a flexible base for future updates
Product Detail Page
We designed conversion-focused product pages that surface what customers care about most: clear pricing, phone compatibility, and standout visuals right at the top. Within the buy box, we emphasized confidence-building details like shipping, returns, and warranty.
Below the fold, we added flexible content blocks powered by metafields, giving the Matter team room to highlight technical specs, sustainability notes, and feature callouts. This structure balances storytelling with clarity, ensuring the product story is told without distracting from the path to purchase.

Connected eight essential apps, including Klaviyo, Junip, Zendesk, Redo, and My Product Cares, to support marketing, reviews, customer care, and returns.

Smart Collections
Launched rule-based collections that auto-populate based on rules, making it easy to merchandise products and launch new lines without manual setup.
Bringing the Vision Online
Matter’s branding team partnered closely with our UX designers to create a digital style guide that translated their vision into web. From typography and color palettes to iconography and product imagery, the collaboration brought consistency across the new site.

Making Marketing Matter
We consolidated multiple Klaviyo accounts into one unified account. This not only simplified the Matter team’s workflow but also strengthened segmentation and deliverability, laying the groundwork for consistent, scalable email and SMS marketing.

Redirecting the Right Way
With five legacy brand sites rolling into one, we mapped and executed a large-scale redirect strategy. This preserved search equity, ensured old links pointed to the right place, and helped Matter HT maintain visibility during launch without disruption.

More That Matters
Matter HT is only just getting started. The new site marks the beginning of a larger rollout, with plans to expand features, introduce more products, and refine the customer journey as the brand grows.
