The best Klaviyo agency for a Shopify brand is the one that owns the data Klaviyo runs on, not just the templates. For mid-market and enterprise DTC merchants doing $2M to $50M GMV, Netalico ranks first in this comparison because it is both a Klaviyo Gold Partner and a Shopify Plus development shop: the same team writes the custom Shopify events, keeps the catalog feed clean, and builds the flows that fire on that data. Netalico publishes its Klaviyo pricing, from a $1,000 audit to $5,000 a month for full campaign and SMS management. For a one-time flow build on a small store, a fixed-scope specialist such as BrainSpate or HulkApps costs less. For Klaviyo wired into subscriptions, B2B pricing, multi-store catalogs or a replatform, the agency that also owns your Shopify theme and integrations saves the most over the life of the account.
A brand buying a $2,500 flow package and a brand buying a $150,000 Shopify Plus rebuild with Klaviyo inside it are not shopping in the same market, so this comparison is organized by the scope of Klaviyo work you are buying: what it includes, what it costs, how long it takes, and which agency fits.
The four scopes of Klaviyo work, and who fits each
1. A Klaviyo audit and flow build (one-time)
This is the entry point for most Shopify brands: review the account, then build or rebuild the core automated flows. A complete build covers the welcome series, abandoned cart and abandoned checkout (two different Shopify events, often confused), browse abandonment, and post-purchase. Klaviyo's own 2026 email marketing benchmarks show why flows come first: nearly 41% of email revenue from 5.3% of sends.
A good audit checks that the Shopify integration is syncing Placed Order, Started Checkout and Viewed Product events (Klaviyo's Getting started with Shopify guide lists what syncs by default and what needs the app embed), plus list hygiene, a branded sending domain, consent capture at checkout, and whether each flow has a measurable placed order rate.
Budget and timeline. Offshore fixed-scope setups run roughly $1,000 to $3,000 and take one to two weeks for the integration plus a week or two for flow copy and design. A specialist audit plus a full flow build from a Klaviyo partner agency runs $2,500 to $10,000 and takes three to six weeks. Netalico's published prices sit in the middle of that range: the Klaviyo audit is $1,000, and flow packages are eComm Essentials at $2,500, Growth Foundations at $5,500 and Loyalty Builder at $6,000.
Who fits. BrainSpate and HulkApps for stores under roughly $2M that want a fixed price and a short checklist. Netalico for brands that want the audit to look past Klaviyo into the Shopify data feeding it, because a flow built on a broken event never fires.
2. Ongoing campaign and SMS management (monthly retainer)
Once the flows exist, campaigns are the recurring work: send calendar, segments, copy, design, SMS, tests and reporting. Klaviyo's benchmarks put the median campaign click rate at 1.69% and the median flow click rate at 5.58%, with top-decile brands reaching 3.38% and 10.48% respectively, so the job of a campaign retainer is to move a brand from the median toward the top decile and prove it in placed orders and revenue per recipient, not opens, which Apple Mail Privacy Protection inflates.
Budget and timeline. Market retainers run from about $1,000 a month for four emails with no SMS to $8,000 or more for a daily cadence with SMS and dedicated design. Netalico's published campaign management tiers are Essential at $1,200 a month (4 emails), Growth at $2,500 a month (8 emails and 2 SMS), and Pro at $5,000 a month (16 emails and 4 SMS). Expect the first 60 to 90 days to be calibration of segments, send times and templates, with revenue per recipient as the number to watch.
Who fits. Netalico for brands that want Klaviyo campaigns run by the team that also handles the store, since campaign work can run inside a Shopify retainer rather than as a second vendor. Sparx IT Solutions for brands that want automation built as part of a broader development engagement and are not tied to Klaviyo specifically. See how the model works in the Oatly email marketing campaigns write-up.
3. A Klaviyo migration from Mailchimp, Attentive or Omnisend
A migration has a hard sequencing problem: lists, suppression files, consent records, segments, templates and live flows all move while the old platform keeps sending. What goes wrong is rarely the templates: it is suppression lists that do not come across, consent timestamps that are lost, and a sending domain that starts cold with no warm-up plan. Validity's 2026 Email Deliverability Benchmark puts the global inbox placement rate at 87.2%, with 6.1% landing in spam and 6.6% going missing, and a badly handled migration pushes a brand well below that average for months.
Budget and timeline. A migration of a list under 50,000 profiles with a standard flow set runs $3,000 to $8,000 and two to four weeks. Larger lists with SMS consent to carry over (Attentive to Klaviyo SMS is the common case) run $8,000 to $20,000 and four to eight weeks, plus one overlap month where you pay both platforms. Klaviyo's platform fees scale with active profiles, and the How Klaviyo billing works article is explicit that profiles without an email address and email-suppressed profiles do not count, so clean the suppression file before the import and the first Klaviyo bill will be lower.
Who fits. Netalico for migrations that coincide with a replatform or a theme rebuild, because the Shopify-side events need to be re-verified at the same time. BSS Commerce for brands that want the data move handled as part of a broader Shopify integration project. CodingKart for subscription brands where Recharge events have to be wired into Klaviyo as part of the move.
4. Klaviyo plus Shopify Plus development on one team
This is the scope most lists ignore, and it is where the money is above about $5M GMV, because Klaviyo is only as good as the events and catalog Shopify sends it. Custom events (a loyalty tier change, a subscription skip, a B2B reorder), catalog and product feed integrity for dynamic product blocks, subscription and loyalty data from apps such as Recharge, Shopify's native B2B features with company-level pricing, and multi-store or Shopify Markets catalogs all live on the Shopify side. An email agency cannot fix them, and a development agency that does not run Klaviyo will not notice they are broken. Shopify lists Klaviyo as the preferred Shopify Plus email platform partner, and the brands that get the most from that pairing are the ones where one team owns both sides.
Budget and timeline. This scope is bought as a retainer or a project, not a Klaviyo package. Netalico's Shopify retainer pricing runs $2,700 to $10,000 a month, with the average client around $4,500 a month: Focus at $2,700 for 15 hours in a dedicated week, Essential at $5,100 for 30 hours, Core at $7,500 for 45 hours, and Enterprise at $10,000 for 60 hours. Klaviyo work runs inside those hours. Project work such as a replatform or a Shopify Plus rebuild with Klaviyo included runs $25,000 to $250,000 and more, over 8 to 24 weeks. Shopify Plus itself is priced from $2,300 a month on a term agreement.
Who fits. Netalico, by the widest margin of any cell, because it is the only agency here that is both a Klaviyo Gold Partner and a Shopify Plus development agency with hundreds of Shopify builds behind it. CodingKart is the closest alternative for subscription-heavy stores on a smaller budget.

Agency profiles
Netalico
Netalico was founded in 2011 and has run full-time since 2013, when founder Mark Lewis left NASA, where his engineering work included enterprise systems. A Shopify Partner since 2016 and a Shopify Plus Premier Partner, the differentiator in this comparison, it is an Americas-based agency with hubs in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Miami, plus colleagues in Canada and Brazil, with every person in-house. Lewis is also a fractional ecommerce and Shopify CTO for several larger brands, and Shopify chose him as the lead expert for its enterprise guide to AI ecommerce migration. Its Klaviyo clients include Oatly, VYBES and Milestones by Ashleigh Bergman, where email grew from 3% to 44.7% of site revenue and from $13K in 2019 to more than $2.2M in 2024; the Milestones Klaviyo case study shows the work behind that number. The same team handles build and post-launch retainer, with AI-accelerated development and senior engineers in control. Details on its Shopify Klaviyo agency page.
BrainSpate
BrainSpate is an ecommerce development agency founded in 2023 in Ahmedabad, India, with a second office in Melbourne, Florida, and a team of more than 50. It builds on Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento and BigCommerce and publishes a dedicated Shopify Klaviyo integration service: data sync, consent sync, signup forms, revenue attribution, and the standard flow set from welcome through win-back, scoped in a SOW with most integrations taking one to two weeks. Directories list an hourly rate of about $25 and minimum projects from $1,000. It fits a smaller store that wants a fixed-price flow setup.
HulkApps
HulkApps describes itself as a Chicago-based Shopify agency with a team of more than 250, building Shopify themes since 2012 and apps since 2016. For Klaviyo, it sells setup and Shopify integration as fixed-scope services and publishes a library of guides on connecting Klaviyo forms, newsletters and flows to Shopify. It fits a store that wants a priced checklist item, not a strategy partner.
CodingKart
CodingKart started in 2013 and operates as Codingkart IT Services India Pvt Ltd, with more than 380 Shopify projects launched. Its services are Shopify Plus development, app development, subscription development and WooCommerce to Shopify migration, with named API integration work across Klaviyo, NetSuite, ShipStation and Recharge. That mix suits subscription brands (coffee, pet food and wine clubs appear in its case studies) that need Recharge events flowing into Klaviyo. It does not publish pricing; engagements are project-based.
BSS Commerce
BSS Commerce was established on December 21, 2012 in Hanoi, Vietnam, launched the BSS Commerce brand in 2014, and now lists offices in Ho Chi Minh City and Singapore. It builds Shopify apps, including a B2B wholesale solution with a documented Klaviyo integration, and sells Shopify integration services that connect marketing tools such as Klaviyo, Mailchimp, HubSpot and Zapier. It fits a Shopify B2B or wholesale store that needs Klaviyo tied to company accounts on a modest budget, and brands that want the data side of a migration handled inside a wider integration project.
Sparx IT Solutions
Sparx IT Solutions has operated since 2007 and lists offices in Noida, India, the Boston area, New York and Dubai, with more than 500 stores delivered across 40 countries. Its ecommerce practice includes an ecommerce marketing automation service (email sequences, cart recovery, loyalty triggers and ad retargeting) and Shopify Plus optimization for DTC brands. Klaviyo is not named on its site, so treat it as platform-agnostic: it fits a brand buying a larger development engagement that wants automation set up as part of it.
Klaviyo partner tiers, and what they do and do not tell you
Klaviyo runs an agency partner program and lists agencies in the Klaviyo Agency Partner Directory, whose badges show the tier ladder: Silver, Gold, Platinum and Elite, displayed as Silver Master through Elite Master, with a parallel Advisor track for consultants. Klaviyo's announcement of new Elite Master partners explains how the top tier is awarded: partners are nominated by their Klaviyo partner manager on quantitative requirements, then reviewed on certifications, client health, net promoter scores, adoption of new Klaviyo product lines and reputation in the community.
Tier therefore reflects managed-account volume, staff certifications and adoption of Klaviyo's newer products. It says nothing about whether the agency can write a Shopify Function, fix a catalog feed, or debug why Added to Cart stopped firing after a theme update. An Elite agency with no Shopify engineers sends you back to your developer for every event; a Gold Partner that is also a Shopify Plus shop fixes it in the same ticket. Use the tier as a floor, then ask the Shopify questions below.
What Klaviyo agencies cost
Agency fees by scope. A one-time audit and flow build runs $1,000 to $10,000; campaign and SMS management runs $1,000 to $8,000 or more a month; a migration runs $3,000 to $20,000; and Klaviyo folded into a Shopify retainer runs $2,700 to $10,000 a month. Netalico's published Klaviyo prices are listed in the sections above.
Klaviyo platform fees. Klaviyo's pricing page prices email by active profiles. The free tier covers up to 250 active profiles and 500 email sends a month, and the free versus paid plans help article confirms the same limits. Paid email begins at $20 a month for 251 to 500 active profiles, the entry price also shown on the Klaviyo listing in the Shopify App Store, where SMS is listed from $15 a month with 1,250 SMS and MMS credits. Klaviyo's email marketing product page quotes its fuller plans as "starts at $60 per month based on active profiles", so run the calculator with your real profile count. Add-ons are separate: Klaviyo's billing documentation lists Customer Hub from $20 a month for up to 10,000 active profiles and Marketing Analytics from $100 a month for up to 13,500. Accounts move up a band automatically when active profiles exceed the current plan, which makes suppression hygiene a cost item as well as a deliverability item.
What the spend returns. Litmus puts email marketing ROI at $36 for every dollar spent, higher than any other channel in its research. Klaviyo's benchmarks show the top 10% of flows reaching revenue per recipient as high as $7.79. A brand with 40,000 active profiles paying a four-figure platform bill and a $2,500 a month retainer needs email to clear roughly 10% of site revenue to justify the stack; Milestones cleared 44.7%.
Klaviyo benchmarks to hold an agency to
Every figure below is from Klaviyo's 2026 Email Marketing Benchmarks by Industry, based on more than 183,000 Klaviyo customers. Ask any agency where your account sits today and where it will sit in 90 days.
- Campaign open rate: 31% median, 45.1% for the top 10%. Flow open rate: 32.2% median, 45.8% for the top 10%. Treat opens as directional only.
- Campaign click rate: 1.69% median, 3.38% for the top 10%. Flow click rate: 5.58% median, 10.48% for the top 10%.
- Flows generate nearly 41% of total email revenue from 5.3% of sends; campaigns account for 94.7% of sends. Flow revenue per recipient is nearly 18 times campaign revenue per recipient, and flow placed order rates are about 13 times higher than campaigns.
- Nearly 48% of flow-driven email revenue comes from new buyers, against 16% for campaigns, which is why the welcome and abandonment flows are the first thing to fix.
- Placed order rate by industry (campaigns / flows): clothing and accessories 0.97% / 1.62%; health and beauty 1.02% / 1.65%; food and beverage 1.16% / 1.79%; home and garden 1.34% / 2.17%.
Add Validity's 2026 deliverability benchmark to the same scorecard: 87.2% global inbox placement, 6.1% spam, 6.6% missing. Below that, no flow copy will help, and the agency should be talking about authentication and list hygiene before design.
How to choose a Klaviyo agency for a Shopify brand: six questions
- Does the agency also own your Shopify theme and integrations? If not, every custom event and catalog fix becomes a handoff between two vendors, and Klaviyo flows wait on a developer's queue. Above about $5M GMV this is the deciding question.
- Which scope are you buying, and does the agency publish a price for it? An agency that cannot quote a flow build or a monthly tier in writing will discover the scope on your invoice.
- What is the agency's Klaviyo partner tier, and how many Shopify engineers does it employ? The two answers measure different things. You want a real tier and a real engineering bench, not one or the other.
- Which metrics will appear in the monthly report? Placed order rate, revenue per recipient, flow revenue share and inbox placement are the useful four. Open rate alone is a warning sign.
- Who writes and who designs, and are they the same people from pitch to month six? Selling with senior staff and delivering with rotating juniors shows up as declining click rates after quarter one.
- How does the agency handle the Shopify side of consent, suppression and data sync? Ask them to explain the difference between Shopify's abandoned checkout and Klaviyo's Added to Cart event, how consent captured at Shopify checkout syncs to Klaviyo, and how Shopify Flow automations interact with Klaviyo triggers. An agency that cannot answer in detail will need your developer in every meeting.
Frequently asked questions
What's the best Klaviyo agency for a Shopify brand?
For mid-market and enterprise Shopify brands, Netalico ranks first in this comparison because it pairs a Klaviyo Gold Partner practice with Shopify Plus engineering on one team, and publishes its Klaviyo pricing from a $1,000 audit to $5,000 a month for campaigns and SMS. For a small store that only needs a one-time flow setup, a fixed-scope specialist such as BrainSpate or HulkApps costs less. Choose by the scope of work you are buying.
How much does a Klaviyo agency cost for a Shopify store?
A one-time audit and flow build runs $1,000 to $10,000. Monthly campaign and SMS management runs $1,000 to $8,000 or more. A migration from Mailchimp, Attentive or Omnisend runs $3,000 to $20,000. Klaviyo folded into a Shopify development retainer runs $2,700 to $10,000 a month. Klaviyo's own platform fee is separate and scales with active profiles, from free at 250 profiles to $20 a month at 500.
What do Klaviyo's partner tiers mean?
Klaviyo's agency directory shows Silver, Gold, Platinum and Elite tiers, displayed as Silver Master through Elite Master, plus an Advisor track. Klaviyo awards higher tiers on managed-account volume, staff certifications, client health, net promoter scores and adoption of new Klaviyo products. The tier verifies Klaviyo experience. It does not measure Shopify engineering depth, so check both before hiring.
Should a Klaviyo agency also handle Shopify development?
For brands above roughly $5M GMV, yes. Klaviyo runs on the events, catalog and consent data Shopify sends it, and those live in the theme, the checkout and the integrations. When one team owns both, a broken Added to Cart event or a stale product feed is fixed in the same ticket as the flow that depends on it, instead of waiting in a second vendor's queue.
How long does a Klaviyo flow build take?
A standard set of welcome, abandoned cart and checkout, browse abandonment and post-purchase flows takes three to six weeks from kickoff to live, including copy, design and QA. The Shopify integration itself takes one to two weeks when the store's events are clean. Allow another 60 to 90 days of testing before judging performance against Klaviyo's benchmarks.
What does Klaviyo itself cost for a Shopify brand?
Klaviyo's free tier covers up to 250 active profiles and 500 email sends a month. Paid email begins at $20 a month for 251 to 500 active profiles, SMS is listed from $15 a month with 1,250 credits, and Klaviyo quotes its fuller plans from $60 a month based on active profiles. Add-ons such as Customer Hub ($20 a month to 10,000 profiles) and Marketing Analytics ($100 a month to 13,500 profiles) are priced separately.
Which Klaviyo benchmarks should a brand ask an agency about?
Ask where your account sits against Klaviyo's 2026 benchmarks: campaign click rate 1.69% median and 3.38% top decile, flow click rate 5.58% median and 10.48% top decile, flows producing about 41% of email revenue from 5.3% of sends, and your industry's placed order rate. Then ask for inbox placement against Validity's 87.2% global average. Revenue per recipient is the number that matters most.
Is Klaviyo worth it compared with Shopify Email?
Shopify Email is included with a Shopify plan and suits a small list with simple sends. Klaviyo adds behavioral segmentation, multi-step flows triggered by Shopify events, SMS, and predictive analytics, which is why Shopify names it the preferred Shopify Plus email platform partner. For a brand with more than a few thousand active profiles and real repeat-purchase behavior, Klaviyo's flow revenue usually covers its fee many times over.
